"Treasure in the Ruins"
This series explores the paradox of beauty in decay, transforming wreckage into art. Using a dynamic mix of ink and watercolor, I contrast rough textures with fluid washes, mirroring the tension between destruction and renewal. The subject—forgotten, rusting cars in a junkyard—becomes a canvas for intricate compositions, proving that even the discarded can hold unexpected elegance.
Often, people overlook or dismiss objects that seem broken, worn, or useless. But when viewed through a different lens, these same objects can reveal striking patterns, textures, and compositions that are just as visually compelling as traditional beauty. By highlighting the interplay of rust, peeling paint, and tangled metal through detailed ink work and expressive watercolor, I challenge the perception of waste, revealing the hidden artistry in what others leave behind. Through this fusion of mediums and subject matter, I aim to shift perspectives—showing that even in ruin, there is artistry.
